What is the latency of the space-based ADS-B signal?

Modified on Thu, 7 Nov, 2024 at 5:42 PM

The latency of the space-based ADS-B signal varies depending on several factors, including satellite transmission time, data processing, and relay to Flightradar24’s systems.

Typically, only near real-time aircraft positions are shown, as any data that’s outdated by more than a few seconds is discarded to ensure accuracy. This allows Flightradar24 to provide the most current position data possible for space-based ADS-B-tracked flights.
